Pennoni Associates was established in 1966 as a
multi-disciplined engineering firm. Our philosophy then is the same as
today "to satisfy the needs of our clients in a professional and
cost-effective manner." We believe this philosophy and our
commitment to excellence is the foundation of the Pennoni organization

Throughout our history, the Pennoni organization
has broadened its services, expanded its markets and increased its
office locations to meet the demands of an extensive cross-section of
private and public sector clients. Today, Pennoni consists of more

Each division staffed is staffed with engineers,
researchers and other professionals experienced in that particular
area, allowing them to focus on the wide range of tasks and issues
associated with it. To highlight just a few examples:
- Pennoni’s
Building Systems division consists of structural, mechanical and
electrical engineers with analytical and technical skills to
recommend/design a wide range of building systems in commercial,
industrial, institutional and governmental facilities. Services
include HVAC, plumbing and fire protection design, electrical
power distribution, lighting and intrusion detection systems, as
well as structural evaluation, reports, design and rehabilitation.
- The
Civil/Municipal division assists communities with engineering
problems involving maintenance of, and improvement to public works
systems. Issues often include road and stormwater maintenance,
traffic safety, signing and signalization, waste management
studies, building inspection, parks and recreation, plan and code
review, grantsmanship and regulatory application coordination.
- The
Environmental division consists of environmental, civil and
chemical engineers, geologists, industrial hygienists and
environmental scientists experienced in performing environmental,
site assessment, remedial design, agency negotiations and expert
testimony/litigation support services.
Additional environmental services include solid and
hazardous waste management, underground storage tank management,
soil/groundwater investigations and remediation, asbestos,
lead-based paint and PCB management and health and safety
planning. Pennoni Associates has performed numerous environmental
impact statements, wetland delineations/mitigations and
environmental permit applications.

- The
Water/Wastewater division focuses on water and wastewater
treatment plants, its related systems and stations. In addition to
design services, also can provide feasibility and financial
studies.
- The
Transportation division uses state-of-the-art computer technology
to effect safe, efficient and attainable transportation systems.
Ranges from traffic lights and systems to bridges and beyond.
- The
Inspection and Testing department services provide quality
assurance to aid contractors and fabricators in meeting the
criteria specified by the design engineer. And Pennoni’s
material specialists are well equipped to perform inspection and
testing at the construction site, fabrication plant or in the
Pennoni laboratories.
- The
Surveying division offers
innovative, timely and cost-effective solutions to help clients
reach their goals. Pennoni utilizes the latest technology to
provide various types of services including ALTA/ACSM Land Title
Surveys, GPS, base mapping, topographic and hydrographic
construction.
- The
Information Management group specializes in Geographic Information
Systems (GIS), Computer Aided Design (CAD), document management
and networking. The staff is experienced in all phases of systems
integration from specification, design and installation to
analyses and data solution with hardware, software, installation,
integration and training. Pennoni’s experience and relationship
with various technologies enables the information systems group to
be particularly skilled in providing solutions for the municipal
and utilities markets.
- Pennoni
Associates also provides professional geotechnical engineering
services utilizing sound technical approaches with a high regard
for cost effectiveness and constructability.
In 2002, the Engineering News Record (ENR)
named Pennoni Associates, Inc. one of the Top 150 Design Firms and
has rated them among their top 100 "Pure Designers" for the
year 2001.
Over the years, Pennoni Associates has received
hundreds of awards of recognition from its peers and the business
community for professionalism and design excellence. Last year,
company founder C.R. “Chuck” Pennoni
was presented with the March of Dimes "Service to
Humanity" Award for his achievements and leadership in his
profession and for his efforts to promote economic development within
Southeastern Pennsylvania. Pennoni Associates also believes in giving
back to the engineering community with scholarships and other
programs.
